David Sassoon - Inside Climate News

David founded Inside Climate News in 2007 after learning about climate change by working as a contract writer for foundations and NGOs grappling with the issue. He identified an unmet need—fair and accurate media coverage of climate science—and launched a blog which grew into ICN over the last 19 years. A history major at Harvard, after graduation David traveled around the world as a documentary black-and-white photographer, for many years based out of Kathmandu, Nepal. He returned to earn a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He then worked as a writer, editor and publisher for 30 years on public interest issues for a variety of employers and started two other publications before launching ICN. He has overseen the growth of the organization from a staff of two to a staff of 42 today and guided the development of ICN’s powerful and innovative operating model with the help of many colleagues and supporters.
