The Deep State Behind the Deep State 2 Comments / By Alex Newman / September 26, 2023 There is a powerful constellation of shadowy and even secret organizations working to overthrow liberty and sovereignty worldwide, but they and their agenda are increasingly being exposed and opposed by people everywhere. The Deep State may be a relatively new term, popularized by Donald Trump and his Make America Great Again movement in recent years, but shadowy forces behind the scenes have been working together for evil purposes for a very long time. They have names and addresses, too. And while they may be legion and extremely powerful, “they” can be stopped. But first they must be identified and exposed. The surface-level Deep State is now blatantly obvious. In fact, in mid-2018, a “senior” administration official took to the New York Times to boast of internal federal efforts to sabotage President Trump. On a panel discussion at the Hayden Center the next year, former Acting CIA chief John McLaughlin was asked by the moderator about the “Deep State” trying to “take [Trump] out.” The former spook boss responded: “Thank God for the Deep State.” In short, there is a Deep State swamp inhabiting Washington, D.C., with tentacles that extend worldwide. The term was once applied to the Soviet Union and Third World nations. But today, it is obvious such a cabal exists in the United States. In fact, three in four Americans surveyed in 2018 by Monmouth University Polling Institute said they believe there is “a group of unelected government and military officials” who “secretly manipulate or direct national policy.” They are right, of course. Former congressional staffer Mike Lofgren, who holds a top-secret security clearance and was one of the first to apply the term “Deep State” to the United States, describes it as “a hybrid entity of public and private institutions ruling the country,” suggesting Wall Street and Big Tech were critical components of it. He is partly correct in his assessments. But it goes much deeper than he seems to realize. Far more important than the “Deep State” within the federal bureaucracy, Wall Street, and the “intelligence” community is the cabal pulling the strings of that Deep State — what this writer has been referring to for years as the “Deep State behind the Deep State.” It consists of a broad network of powerful individuals and organizations—some known, others largely unknown, some above ground with websites and public membership rosters, others operating in total secrecy. Of course, the Deep State behind the Deep State has a lot of overlap in terms of membership and leadership with the above-ground forces. Countless groups such as the World Affairs Council, the Aspen Institute, Le Cercle, the Brookings Institution, the Club of Rome, the Atlantic Council, the World Economic Forum, and even the relatively new “World Government Summit” play a major part in the machine. The network transcends party lines. It includes “conservatives” and “liberals,” self-styled Protestants and Catholics, and more. It has dominated U.S. politics and especially foreign policy for generations, at least until Trump got elected. Members range from politicians and businessmen to “religious” leaders and academics. Their network is vast and diabolical. And it threatens everything Americans hold dear. In short, the often-celebrated goal of a “New World Order” emerging from the “Great Reset” would mean the end of liberty and perhaps even our very humanity. While there are numerous other organizations that could have been included if not for space constraints, what follows is a list of the most critical groups pulling the strings. Taken together, these groups and their leaders represent the heart of the so-called “invisible government behind the scenes” seeking to dominate not just the United States but all of humanity. Late Georgetown University history Professor Carroll Quigley, celebrated as a mentor by President Bill Clinton, bragged that he spent decades close to the core of what is today known as the Deep State. In his 1966 book Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in Our Time, Quigley outlined many of the goals of the “Anglo-American establishment,” as he called it, including a one-world government and economic regime controlled by them. He also admitted that he has “no aversion” to its globalist agenda. “The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole,” he explained, adding that this network acts like and works with communists. “This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences.” Some of these “secret meetings and conferences” that would control the global neo-feudalist system are outlined h...
